In my last post, I shared with you some great ways to
enjoy your pregnancy, but you may want some ways to remember your pregnancy by.
You may be thinking though, “why would I want to remember this pregnancy?” Especially if you follow through with an adoption plan. Personally speaking, I wish I had more to remember my pregnancy with Charlie by and that I had enjoyed that pregnancy more because that was our special time, the time when I was (unlike now) his only mother. Remembering your pregnancy also acknowledges your motherhood.
- Maternity Pillow ~ Towards the very end of your pregnancy or even after it is over, take one of your favorite maternity shirt and turn it into a keepsake pillow by sewing it up with a pillow form inside or fill it with pillow stuffing. (You could also make two pillows and give one to your child.)
- Belly Cast ~ Belly casting is pretty popular nowadays and will create a permanent cast that you can use as artwork or to decorate.
- Pregnancy Journal or Calendar ~ On a calendar or in a journal, keep track of when pregnancy milestones occurred, your cravings, how you were feeling, etc. If you have subsequent pregnancies in the future, this information may come in handy then as well.
- Letters to your Baby ~ You could also write letters to your baby to remember your pregnancy by. Write down your prayers, hopes, dreams, and wishes for your child. Don’t forget to date them. You may or may not choose to share these with your child one day and that’s ok.
- Memory Box ~ Get a box and designate it your “memory box.” Place keepsake items from your pregnancy (pregnancy confirmation from the doctor, ultrasound photos, etc.) in the box.
- Pregnancy Photos ~ I can’t leave pregnancy photos off this list! They are a great way to remember your pregnancy by.
If you have done or are doing something unique to remember your pregnancy by, I’d love to hear about it!
