When this 9/11 Story showed up in my inbox today, thanks to Google News Alerts, I knew that I had to share it with you. Granted it’s not related to crisis pregnancy, it’s a touching adoption story that surprised and moved me. flag

Does the name Tom Burnett sound familiar to you? If you watched any of the non stop news coverage following the terrorists acts on September 11, 2001, you are probably thinking you have heard the name before.

In the days and months to follow the attacks, Tom Burnett was named one of the heroes aboard Untied Flight 93. You may remember that passengers overtook Flight 93 and caused it to land in a field in Pennsylvania. Tom Burnett, who grew up a Minnesotan, was flying home to California from a business trip to New York and is said to be the leader of the attack on the cockpit that caused the plane to divert its path and crash in a field instead of its target. Tom called his wife Deena multiple times from the plane telling her what was going on and that he loved her and the three daughters they were raising.

So, you are probably thinking, “Ok, I know all this already…”

But, did you know Tom Burnett was a birthfather?

In honor of the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the St. Paul Pioneer Press shares a touching tribute to Tom Burnett and tells the story of this hero’s other daughter.

Mariah Mills, who was a 16 year old high school student at the time of the attacks, came home from school on 9/11 and told her adoptive mother that she just had this feeling, later declared a premonition, that one of her birthparents had died in the attacks. Her adoptive parents assured her that the chances of this happening were slim.

To be continued…………….

Wow,what a sweet but sad story. That confirms that there can be a intitution feeling between family members about the other one (sadness, sickness, etc).
