It is New Years Eve! It’s time to say goodbye to the old, 2006, and hello to the new, 2007! Do you have any fun plans for the night?? Even though you may be pregnant, you could still toast in the New Year (If you can make it

up till midnight, I couldn’t when I was pregnant!) with a glass of sparkling white grape juice or apple cider. Maybe not as fun to some, but still festive!
Do you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Even though it wasn’t a brand New Year when I gave birth to Charlie, I remember thinking that this was my chance to start over, erase my mistakes and have a clean slate. Not to say Charlie was a mistake but the acts that led up to my pregnancy with Charlie were a mistake. But you know what I have learned the hard way? Those mistakes are never erased and that slate is never fresh and clean again. And you will never be perfect, hard as you may try, it’s impossible and you are bound to make mistakes again.
In the open adoption blog, I wrote about
New Year’s Resolutions and included some tips on how to keep them. In writing that post, I was unsure if I would even make a resolution this year, but have since been thinking about and decided that my resolution, which will be more of a goal or a plan for the New Year, will be to continue working on growing emotionally and spiritually, working on my own personal issues, and forgiveness.
Forgiveness is such a huge issue for me! I need to start with myself. I am still angry with myself for a lot of the mistakes I have made in my life. I need to face those mistakes head on and try to forgive myself.
Happy New Year!! :)
