Ok, I’ve jumped on the Love Thursday bandwagon with
Jenna and
Lauri. Posting personal pictures once a week is fun! I’d never even heard of Love Thursday till Jenna brought it over to the
adoption blogs world last week.
I LOVE this picture. I have two favorite pictures of Charlie and me together and this is one of them. The other one is a triad pic and includes his adoptive mom. Maybe I will share that one another Thursday.
One reason I think I love this picture so much is it is in black and white and I just LOVE black and white pictures. They are so classic!
This picture was taken two Christmases ago. Charlie and his family were at my parent’s house on the day after Christmas exchanging Christmas presents, eating popcorn, chatting, playing, and just having a genuinely good ole time together.
My Mom and Dad had given Charlie a set of match box cars and a little garage thing that you can “drive” the cars into. Noah’s never been one to sit and play with cars. He prefers things that make noise. Not Charlie! He uses his lips and mouth to make the noise! So the two of us were playing together and had his garage set up on top of my Mom’s coffee table. We were driving the cars in and out of the garage, crashing them into one another, and even making them fly. I know, I didn’t know cars flew either, but Charlie says they do! We were making “beep beep” noises, “vrooming” sounds, and lots of “screeching.” He really gets into playing with his cars!!
I love that my Mom (thanks Mom!) snapped this picture at just the right moment. Our heads are nearly touching and we look so engrossed in our play, don’t we. Who knew playing could be so much fun! I’ll never forget that day and how special ordinary old matchbox cars became.
