That’s me and my best friend in that picture. Normally I feature pics of my kids.

But I received a card in the mail yesterday from Lani, a friendship card, reminding me that this month is our friendship anniversary. We’ve been friends for five years now.
I’ve written about
Lani before and how she helped me through the beginning stages of my grief, how she was the first birthmother I met besides myself and how she has become like a sister to me.
But I haven’t written about the crazy things that you can do and only get away with with a person that is truly a close friend. We both have a very wacky sense of humor and do some crazy things together and I cherish those memories.
Like the picture above. That’s Lani and I on this little rock climbing wall at a park near my home. We are being goofy and crazy and acting like its Mt. Everest or something.
More crazy moments and memories…..
- Meeting for the first time face to face at 2 AM at a Waffle House

- Our road trip to Virginia to visit Lani’s birth daughter for her 2nd birthday and our run in with Hurricane Isabel
- Staying up all night talking anytime we get together
- All of the fun after our presentation in Myrtle Beach, SC at the SC Counsel for Adoptable Children Conference. I wish I could tell you more about it but what happens in Myrtle Beach stays in Myrtle Beach!(second picture)
- Staying up all night watching Lani trying to build a castle out of a foam core for an event
Crafting ~ We’ve made flip flops, jewelry, stamped, scrapbooked, and made some Christmas crafts together.(3rd picture)
Granted we live three hours a part and don’t see each other too often, we still have had time to make some memories and be crazy.
Being able to crazy around some one… That’s love.
