Ever since Jenna brought Love Thursday over here to Adoption Blogs, I’m looking forward to Thursdays! (Thanks Jenna!)

On to today’s Love Thursday Post!

Baseball equals love? What? Shouldn’t a dozen red roses equal love? Or a couple all snuggled together by the fire?

Not today!!! Today, baseball equals love! You may recognize the handsome little man in that picture, the one in the green shirt, sitting in the wheelchair. He’s mine; that’s my Noah! He doesn’t walk like you or I do. His wheelchair is his main mode of getting around. He doesn’t talk the “normal” way you or I do, he communicates with sign language. But he’s every bit as normal as every other nine year old boy. He loves baseball!

See that huge smile beaming on his face– its love. He may not talk normally but that smile is saying everything for him!

“Thank you for finding Miracle League Momma! Thank you for buying me a glove Daddy! Thank you for cheering for me in the stands Nana! Thank you for clapping for me Grandaddy! Thank you, Mr. Umpire for helping me hit the ball. Thank you God for baseball fields!”

God bless Miracle League for giving my son a chance to play a sport like every other child. Miracle League is an organization that pairs children with all different kinds of special needs with “buddies” who are able bodied children who assist them in playing the game. Everyone scores in Miracle League – no one’s out, both teams win and most importantly – the children win! It’s a great self esteem boost for these children who are often times left out or forgotten because they are a little different from everyone else. But in their hearts, they want to be treated like any other child and through Miracle League they are given the chance to play a sport and be on a team, like any other child their age.

I say – Miracle League – that’s love!
