This book isn’t related to adoption but is (in my opinion) a great book for anyone expecting whether they parent or place their baby for adoption. It was given to me by a dear friend. She purchased a copy for me when she purchased one for her child. letters to baby3

Letters to Baby is a collection of 68 letters to newborns passing along wisdom and inspiration. Each contributor was asked the same question, “What would you tell a newborn baby that you have found to be important in life?

The letters are written by various people – some famous and well known and others that are not. Each letter is written from a different view point and is unique.

Among the 68 contributors are:

  • Country music superstars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw

  • Growing Pains star and actor Kirk Cameron

  • Christian Singer Amy Grant

  • Politicians Bob Dole and Michael Dukasis

  • Aninmal Expert Jack Hanna

  • Race Car Drive Mario Andretti

  • Former Vice President Dan Quayle

  • Evangelist Franklin Graham

  • American Bandstand host, Dick Clark

Some of the letters are humorous and quirky while others are very sincere and heartfelt. Some of the letters are actual letters that the contributors wrote to their own children. Faith Hill’s letter was written while she was expecting her first child.

I love Kirk Cameron’s advice,
There is a lot to learn about being a kid. Sometimes it’s tough, so here are a few tips that will help you get a good head start in life.

  1. Learn how much Jesus loves you and love him back with all your heart.

  2. Don’t ever think of yourself as more important or better than someone else.

  3. Do special things for your family and friends to show them how much you love them.

Do these three things and you’ll be ready for a very exciting life. Hang on, it’s a adventurous ride.

Oops, I left out one very important letter contributor - you! The book comes with a blank lined page in the back so you can write your very own, special letter to your baby. What a treasure this book will be in years to come!

That sounds like a very good book, if someone knew that they were going to place it could help them with a letter to their birthchild or even to the adoptive parents also.

Thanks Coley. I am going to look for it when I go to buy some book next at a bookstore. If they don't have it, I am going to order 3 copies, one for each of my kids. I love Kirks advice too.
