“Who are you to judge the life I live?
I know I’m not perfect -
and I don’t live to be,
but before you start pointing fingers,
make sure your hands are clean.”
~ Bob Marley
In the upcoming days some of us may be traveling over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother’s House. Or perhaps your family gathers at a more modern place in the city.
Where ever your family gathering may be, there is sure to be tons of well meaning advice, lots of opinions, and maybe even a few dirty looks regarding your crisis pregnancy situation and what you should do with your unborn baby! Many people may have solutions or know the best route for you and your baby.
Families are loving but they can also be unintentionally cruel! I would not have wanted to attend a large family dinner in the throes of my crisis pregnancy. If you don’t feel up to it and get out of it with out being thrown out of the family inheritance, then maybe you should do that, do what is best for you and your baby!

Being with families is typically to some what the essence of the holidays is about, so if you do go to your family gathering, I want to bring your attention to my Bob Marley quote I opened this post with. Although people may be picking on you and your situation – no one in your family, not even your ninety year old grandmother – is perfect. We have each made our own individual mistakes and dealt with them in the manner we deemed best….
So keep that in mind if you are feeling in the middle of a family attack. Also remember this truly is your decision. You must make the best decision for you and your baby regardless of the opinions of your family members. This is a decision you will have to live with for the rest of your life.
In the next few posts, I’ll re-run the best of the best from posts past on ways to deal with family and well meaning advice.
