Continuing my Breast Cancer Awareness Series….

If you have some down time this weekend and are a little bored, be bop on over to the awesome Breast Cancer Awareness area on the Lifetime Television for Women Website. There is lots to see, read, and do over there, so let me highlight some of my faves.

Map of Hope
One of my personal favorite parts of the website, this map of the world contains pink symbols representing breast cancer survivors, blue symbols that are left in honor of breast cancer survivors, and yellow symbols that are left in memory of someone who did not beat breast cancer. You can pin point your area of the world, even down to your state, and find survivors near you and read their stories.

The Daily Pink
If you are an avid blog lover and reader, like me, then this an area for you! It’s a daily blog with links to stars, like Cheryl Crow, sharing their stories of bouts with breast cancer, a pink product of the day such as this really cool little day pink planner, and news tid bits relating to breast cancer and women’s’ issues.

Courage Night
Different college campuses and community organizations will be hosting women’s courage nights throughout the month of October. Courage Night is a special event intended to promote breast cancer awareness and show special screenings of the upcoming Lifetime Movie, Why I Wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy. Why I wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy is the personal story (and book of the same name) of Geralyn Lucas who was diagnosed with cancer at age 27. She fought back with a sassy style and attitude and her battle has been made in to a Lifetime Movie, which will premiere on October 23rd.

Get Informed
This area of the website teaches you facts and statistics on the number of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, the importance of self breast checks, signs of early detection, prevention tips, and more!

Again these are only my faves. Lots more to see (and read) at the Lifetime Breast Cancer Awareness Area!
