Part 1
7. What type of adoption did you choose and why? I chose an open adoption. I chose this…because I could not see myself placing my child and then not ever knowing or seeing her again. I did some research and found that open adoption is healthier for all involved.
8. How do you feel about adoption now? I am happy about my adoption right now. I am busy doing other things right now, and so I do not have time to sit and be sad for my choice. I know that I did a right thing. I have not felt sad about my choice since late last year.
9. Anything else to add? I love the relationship that I have with the adoptive parents and also K. She is the light of my life and I know that I made the right decision for me at the time.
10. How is your life now? College grad or in the process? Working? Married? More kids? Etc... Wow…my life is very very busy right now. I am engaged to an amazing man and we are getting married May 19th of this year and so I have just passed the “2 months to go” mark. What a scary mark to pass knowing how much I still have to do.
I am also now 1400 miles away from my birth child. I never thought I would be able to move away, but it has made me grow. I currently have not had any other kids since Kaylee. I did inherit two dogs who are my kids for the time being. I am planning on having at least one or two more after getting married. My fiancé loves and respects my relationship with Kaylee.
I am hoping to go back to school starting in the fall. I would like to major in counseling in hopes to one day becoming an adoption counselor.
