I see expectant parents lament the agency with whom they are working all the time. I applaud their gusto and knowledge because I didn't even know enough to complain about mine while I was pregnant and working with them on the placement of my child. An unplanned pregnancy can be scary. No matter your current lot in life, it can be a really daunting time in your life. Suddenly you are forced to think not only of yourself and your well being but the well being of the child growing within your womb. At the same time, you need to continue living your life as you were planning, whether that is working, going to school or both. (Or more!) There are a lot of young mothers or young pregnant mothers in the news lately such as Jamie Lynn Spears and Bristol Palin. When you read about either of these young women, one thing you often hear is that they are planning to get married. While I think that is great for them since it is their choice, I also hope it doesn’t send the wrong message out to some unwed expectant mothers. I wonder if they are wondering if they got married if their pregnancy might be more accepted.

It seems that once again unplanned pregnancy and teen pregnancy is in the spotlight as the news of the unplanned pregnancy of Sarah Palin’s (the Republican Vice Presidential Candidate) came to light.
