It is New Years Eve! It’s time to say goodbye to the old, 2006, and hello to the new, 2007! Do you have any fun plans for the night?? Even though you may be pregnant, you could still toast in the New Year (If you can make it
up till midnight, I couldn’t when I was pregnant!) with a glass of sparkling white grape juice or apple cider. Maybe not as fun to some, but still festive!
Do you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Even though it wasn’t a brand New Year when I gave birth to Charlie, I remember thinking that this was my chance to start over, erase... more
Are you anxiously anticipating the birth of your baby?
For any expectant mother, I think there is tons of anticipation involved in pregnancy and the impending labor and delivery. Some is good anticipation and some is jittery, nervous anticipation. And with Charlie’s birth there was also a sense of dreaded anticipation because I knew he and I would be separated soon after his birth. I think if I could have been pregnant forever I would have just to have had more time with him.
If you read this blog much you know that I love to look up and... more
My desk top ‘puter is back up and running ready for me to press ahead!! I am so relieved! It’s not very old, only a couple of years, and I really did not want to have to buy another one so soon. The diagnosis for my ‘puter was dead power source. So, a trip to Best Buy, about sixty bucks, and half an hour of handy man computer work by my Dad and hubby later, my ‘puter is feeling much better and I can begin posting again!!
I just wanted to take a minute to let all of you, my dear readers, know that I am thankful for you. Without your support, comments, emails, thoughts, and dedication and thirst for adoption related information, I wouldn’t be blogging.
Some of you may be facing difficult and stressing times and experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, while others may be birthmothers or adoptive mothers or even adoption professionals or friends to someone who is an unplanned pregnancy or is personally connected to adoption. Whatever the reason that brings you here, I... more
I’m using my blog as a place to vent today, so bear with me……
November is National Adoption Awareness month and birth parents do not get a lot of the focus during the month as it more intended to make people aware of the children in foster care waiting to be adopted. I get that. I really do.
I go to a pretty large church that has a very diverse population. We have many adoptive parents that have adopted domestically, through foster care, and internationally. There’s even a small group for adoptive parents. We have a few birthmoms in the... more
I layed kind of low yesterday as I was just mentally and physically exhausted. I did manage to post one post yesterday, but that’s because it was pre-written. (haha)
At the end of September, I decided I was going to attempt to write the maximum amount of posts for each of my two blogs here, which is a combined total of 86 posts! Goooooo Me!! To all the other bloggers who have reached the max before, kudos to you. It was no easy task!
When I make a goal, I’m... more
The purpose of this post is simply to put a smile on your face. Maybe you are stressed out or down in the dumps? I received this in an email and found it cute and funny and knew I had to share it with my dear readers!
If Men Got Pregnant....
Maternity leave would last two years....with full pay. There would be a cure for stretch marks. Natural childbirth would become obsolete. Morning sickness would rank as the nation's #1 health problem. All methods of birth control... moreI came across a very interesting (or at least I found it interesting) article tonight thanks to my Google News Alerts.
I know that these people and this organization are very well meaning, but I can’t help but think the money would be better spent actually helping young women. What they are doing is printing messages on balloons and releasing them into the sky in the hopes that a woman experiencing... more
I’m a crafty girl – I like doing crafts and making things for my friends and family. I really wish I could sew. I have a sewing machine, I just can’t figure out how to thread the darn bobbin! Martha Stewart I am not!
But I LOVE making the no sew fleece blankets that are all the rave right now. They are simple to make, don’t take a whole lot of time, and they turn out cute and are something sweet and personable to give friends and family.
So, why not try making a no sew blanket for your baby? If you parent him or her, believe me,... more
Recently I wrote a post about the unexpected – when unexpected complications pop up during pregnancy. One of these complications could be premature labor and delivery.
A friend recently gave birth to her son five weeks early and he now remains in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, otherwise known as the NICU. Seeing pictures of her tiny baby in the NICU reminded me of my son’s NICU days and the fact that no one usually expects for their baby to end up in the NICU. It’s just something that happens.
I wasn’t prepared for this and I doubt my friend... more
